Plan your event

First you need to decide on what kind of bike ride you are going to embark on , cross country , intercontinental or down the road in the local village. Choose your time and dates carefully, considering things like weather, what else is happening in the local area, your start and finish points and the route you intend to cycle. You can use  social networking platforms like Radio, Email, Facebook and Twitter to tell your friends about your event and to encourage them to take part or donate. Things like raffles , poker nights , pub quiz’s and auctions will raise even more awareness and you can put up posters in your local area or contact local papers to get some coverage.

Invite your guests

Email, text, phone and post the details of your event to all your friends, family and contacts. You might like to create an event on Facebook or Tweet the details to spread the word even further.

Gather some support

Contact your local shops, pubs and restaurants and ask if they will donate prizes or display posters, help to raise funds and spread the word. For extra help ask your friends to design and distribute posters & source raffle prizes.

Thank all the participants

Everyone who comes to your event will be helping to create a greener more conscious society, so once you’ve rounded up your donations, don’t forget to let them know how much they have helped to raise, and give them a reminder of where those funds are going.

Document your ride

Take photos and film your ride, send the footage to  info@globalwheeling.org and we’ll put your eco charity bike ride on the website.
